For the 2003/2004 financial year the SANSOR membership boasted with a total of 112 members, comprising 68 full, 32 associate, six affiliate and six honorary members (see figure 1).  The membership has increased by four members during the period under review. 

Four new members joined, i.e. Douglas Bee Farms, Agriocare (Pty) Ltd., SA Golden Leaf and Proteios B.V.  Five new honorary members joined after our Annual General Meeting in May 2003, namely Messrs Pieter Jansen, Ian Jarvie, Ed Jordan, Drs Piet Möhr and Tobie Wickens.  Three members resigned, i.e. Tsitsikamma Seeds cc., Zylem (associate members) and Northern Transvaal Beekeepers Association (affiliate member). The membership of Plantsman Seed was cancelled and our honorary member, Mr Solly Joffe passed away during the period under review. 

The following members changed their enterprise names:

Foodtek (Biotech Programme) changed to CSIR Bio/Chemtek, Pollination Service Association (POSA) – North changed to South African Bee Industry Executive (SABIE), Noord Transvaal Koöp Bpk changed to NTK Limpopo Agric. Ltd.
